On January 19, 2013, OCAD University hosted its inaugural TEDx event. I had the privilege to be part of the organizing team since its inception, playing many different roles. Seeing it all come together at the end of eight exciting and stressful months of planning was truly a rewarding experience.

As lead communications coordinator, I developed a marketing and communications strategy, managed, and created content for multiple social media platforms, and facilitated internal communication within the organizing team.

The theme, Simplexity, relates to the increasing complexities in the world and in our daily lives that are in constant tension with our innate desire for balance and order. It represents the vulnerabilities and strengths born from increasingly diverse circumstances. Simplexity marks the relationships emerging from both expected and unexpected patterns.

I was also responsible for the TEDxOCADU lettering for the set. In collaboration with Alex Nakvetaouri, we designed and built the signature backdrop for our speakers.

Jessica Lock and Daniel Kim designed the branding language for the event and I provided support in designing name tags, programs, banners, signage, and content for the website.
